45 साल के निकोलस मैक्गी ने इस हत्याकांड के बारे में ऐसी बातें बताई हैं जो चौंकाने वाली हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि वह और उनकी पत्नी गेजलर नाम के शख्स के साथ शराब पी रहे थे. फिर उसने सिगरेट मांगी लेकिन गेजलर ने देने से इनकार कर दिया.
इसके बाद उसने गेजलर की हत्या कर दी और फिर जेब से ड्रग्स निकालकर सिगरेट पीने लगा. इस काम में वह अकेले नहीं थे बल्कि उनकी पत्नी भी शामिल थीं. ये पूरा मामला अमेरिका का है.
मैक्गी ने बताया कि उसने 22 मार्च 2022 को हत्या की थी. इसके बाद 17 महीने बाद पुलिस ने पुष्टि की कि गेजलर लापता है. फिर पुलिस ने उसकी तलाश शुरू कर दी.
मैक्गी का कहना है कि गीस्लर ने उसका इस्तेमाल किया, लेकिन जब उसने ड्रग्स मांगना शुरू किया तो उसने इनकार कर दिया। गीस्लर नॉस्ट्रैंड एवेन्यू स्थित उनके फ्लैट पर आते थे। उस दिन भी वह वहां आया था.
गेजलर से नफरत क्यों थी?
मैकजी ने खुलासा किया कि वह पहले से ही गैज़लर से नफरत करता था। वह एक यौन अपराधी भी था. 2005 में उनके खिलाफ 12 साल के लड़के को परेशान करने का मामला दर्ज किया गया था. मैक्गी ने कहा कि उसने पहले गेजलर को थप्पड़ मारा और फिर जोर से मारा, जिससे वह बेहोश हो गया।

पिटाई के बाद मैक्गी ने अपनी जेब से नशीला पदार्थ निकाला और उसे पी लिया। उस समय मैक्गी और उनकी पत्नी स्टिंस दोनों घर पर थे। हालांकि उनका कहना है कि हत्या में पत्नी शामिल नहीं थी. हत्या के बाद गीस्लर का शव कई दिनों तक अपार्टमेंट में पड़ा रहा। जब वह सड़ने लगा तो मैक्गी ने उसके टुकड़े कर दिये।
इसके बाद शवों को प्लास्टिक की थैलियों में भरकर एक-एक सूटकेस में डाल दिया. इस सूटकेस को फ्रिज में रख दिया. उन्होंने बताया कि पहले तो उन्हें लगा कि शव को कहीं बाहर फेंक दिया जायेगा. हालाँकि, उस व्यस्त इमारत में शव के साथ बाहर जाना खतरे से खाली नहीं था।
न्यूयॉर्क पोस्ट के मुताबिक, मैक्गी ने कहा, मैं शव को रेफ्रिजरेटर में रखना चाहता था और इसके बारे में भूल जाना चाहता था। मैक्गी के पड़ोसियों ने कहा कि उन्हें पहले से ही संदेह था कि उसके फ्लैट में कोई गड़बड़ी हुई है। कई बार लोगों ने जाकर पता लगाने की कोशिश की लेकिन मैक्गी ने किसी को अंदर नहीं जाने दिया.
अगर कोई अंदर जाता भी तो उसे फ्रिज के पास जाने की इजाजत ही नहीं होती। यहां तक कि जब पुलिस उनके घर पहुंची तो उन्होंने पुलिस को फ्रिज के पास जाने से रोक दिया. इससे शक गहरा गया. इसके बाद जब फ्रिज खोला गया तो शव के अवशेष देखकर पुलिस भी दंग रह गई.
